Warm, juicy baked peaches topped with cinnamon sugar and served with vanilla ice cream for an easy summer dessert.
4 large ripe peaches
3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons brown sugar
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pinch of nutmeg
Pinch of ground cloves
Pinch of salt
Vanilla ice cream, for serving
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Slice the peaches in half and remove the pits.
Arrange the peach halves cut-side up on a large baking sheet or baking dish.
Place a small piece of butter in the center of each peach half.
In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the peaches.
Bake for 8–12 minutes, or until the peaches are tender and lightly caramelized.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes.
Serve warm topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Use ripe but firm peaches for the best texture.
White peaches, yellow peaches, or nectarines work well in this recipe.
For added crunch, sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts over the peaches before baking.
A drizzle of honey or caramel sauce makes an extra indulgent topping.
These peaches can also be served with whipped cream, yogurt, or mascarpone cheese.
Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
