Ingredients

75 ml milk
7 g instant yeast
25 g white caster sugar
16 g vanilla sugar
150 g vanilla pudding
1 egg
45 g butter
450 g all-purpose flour
16 g baking powder
4 g salt
Granulated sugar, for coating
Sunflower oil, for frying

Instructions

In a large bowl, combine the lukewarm milk, instant yeast, vanilla sugar, and caster sugar. Mix well and let it rest for 5 minutes.
Add the vanilla pudding and mix until smooth. Gradually pour in the beaten egg while mixing continuously.
Add the butter, flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix until a dough forms, then knead for 10–12 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and roll it out to about 1.5 cm thick.
Cut the dough into pieces using a knife or pizza cutter and place them slightly apart. Let them rise again for 30 minutes.
Heat a layer of sunflower oil in a frying pan to 175°C (350°F). Fry the vanilla donuts on both sides until golden brown.
Drain on paper towels and coat with granulated sugar if desire

Notes

Use lukewarm milk to activate the yeast properly.
Do not overheat the oil to avoid burning the donuts.
Delicious with cinnamon sugar or vanilla glaze.
