A crispy puff pastry dessert filled with bananas and creamy hazelnut spread, baked until golden and perfectly sweet for an easy treat.
3 bananas
1 sheet puff pastry
Hazelnut cream such as Nutella
1 egg, beaten for egg wash
Sugar, for sprinkling
Preheat the oven to 392°F (200°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Using a small knife, carefully cut a shallow trench along the length of each banana without slicing all the way through.
Spoon hazelnut cream into the trench and spread evenly.
Cut puff pastry into strips and wrap around each banana in a spiral pattern, slightly overlapping the pastry. Tuck the ends underneath to secure.
Place the wrapped bananas on the prepared baking tray, leaving space between each one.
Brush the pastry with beaten egg wash and sprinkle lightly with sugar.
Bake for 25 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and crisp.
Let cool slightly before serving.
Serve warm with powdered sugar, chocolate drizzle, or vanilla ice cream for an extra indulgent dessert. Ripe but firm bananas work best for this recipe.
