Ingredients

For the shrimp:

1.5 lbs large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
2 tbsp olive oil
3 tbsp unsalted butter
56 cloves garlic (minced)
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup chicken or seafood broth
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese (optional)
Fresh parsley (for garnish)

For the mashed potatoes:

2 lbs potatoes (Yukon gold or russet)
4 tbsp butter
1/2 cup warm milk (or more as needed)
1/2 cup heavy cream (optional for extra creaminess)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 cloves garlic (optional, mashed or roasted)

Instructions

Peel and cut potatoes into chunks. Boil in salted water for 15–20 minutes until soft.
Drain potatoes and mash with butter, warm milk, cream, salt, pepper, and garlic until smooth. Keep warm.
In a large pan, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat.
Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
Add shrimp, paprika, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink. Remove shrimp and set aside.
In the same pan, pour in broth and simmer for 2 minutes.
Add heavy cream and parmesan cheese, stirring until sauce thickens.
Return shrimp to the pan and coat in creamy garlic butter sauce. Add lemon juice.
Serve shrimp over mashed potatoes and garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

Do not overcook shrimp; they become rubbery quickly.
For richer flavor, use roasted garlic in mashed potatoes.
Sauce can be thickened more by simmering longer or adding extra parmesan.
You can substitute milk with half-and-half for creamier potatoes.
