Ingredients

8 oz penne pasta
1 lb lean ground beef
1 cup heavy cream
3 cloves garlic (minced)
1 medium onion (diced)
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tsp Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper (to taste)
2 tsp olive oil

Instructions

Cook pasta:
Boil penne according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and reserve 1 cup of pasta water.
Sauté aromatics:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, cooking until soft and fragrant (about 5 minutes).
Cook beef:
Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks (about 7 minutes). Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
Make the sauce:
Reduce heat and stir in heavy cream. Gradually add reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached. Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
Combine:
Add cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat evenly in the sauce.
Serve:
Serve hot, topped with extra Parmesan or fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Reserve pasta water—it helps create a silky, well-emulsified sauce.
Use freshly grated Parmesan for best flavor and melting.
Add spinach or mushrooms for extra texture and nutrition.
Adjust sauce thickness by adding more or less pasta water.
