Enjoy a vibrant and flavorful meal with Za’atar Garlic Salmon. This easy-to-make dish combines aromatic za’atar seasoning, garlic, and lemon to create a marinade that infuses the salmon with rich, herby flavors. Perfect for busy weeknights or dinner parties, this salmon recipe is both quick and delicious.
4 salmon fillets (skin-on or skinless)
3 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons za’atar seasoning
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
In a small bowl, combine olive oil, za’atar seasoning, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or on a plate. Pour the za’atar mixture over the salmon, ensuring each fillet is evenly coated. Let the salmon marinate for at least 15 minutes (up to 30 minutes for more flavor).
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) or heat a grill pan over medium-high heat.
For the oven: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the salmon on the sheet, skin-side down (if skin-on). Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
For the grill pan: Cook the salmon for 4-5 minutes per side, depending on the thickness of the fillets, until fully cooked.
Remove the salmon from the heat and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Add Vegetables: Pair with roasted or grilled vegetables like zucchini, eggplant, or bell peppers.
Spicy Kick: Add red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper to the marinade for extra heat.
Yogurt Sauce: Serve with a yogurt sauce made from plain Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and garlic for a cool contrast to the spice.
Crispy Salmon: For a crispy texture, sear the salmon in a hot skillet for a few minutes before finishing it in the oven.
