This refreshing green detox smoothie is loaded with apple, kale, cucumber, and lemon—perfect for winter wellness and gentle liver support.
1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or oat milk)
1 medium apple (Pink Lady or Fuji), cored and chopped
1 cup packed baby kale (or spinach)
½ cup chopped English cucumber
¼ cup fresh flat-leaf parsley
½ small ripe avocado
Juice of ½ lemon (about 1 tablespoon)
½-inch knob fresh ginger, peeled
1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
1 teaspoon pure maple syrup (optional)
Pinch of cayenne or cinnamon (optional)
Ice cubes (optional, for extra chill)
Add liquid base: Pour almond milk and lemon juice into the blender first.
Add greens: Top with baby kale and parsley.
Add produce: Add chopped apple, cucumber, avocado, ginger, flaxseed, and optional maple syrup or spice.
Blend: Start on low for 20 seconds, then increase to high and blend for 45–60 seconds until smooth and creamy.
Taste and adjust: Add more lemon or maple syrup to adjust tartness or sweetness, if desired.
Serve: Pour into a chilled glass and enjoy immediately.
For a frostier texture, freeze the apple chunks 30 minutes before blending.
For a gentler flavor, skip cayenne and use cinnamon instead.
Spinach can be substituted for kale for a milder green flavor.
This smoothie is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored covered in the fridge for up to 4 hours.
