Ingredients

For the Red Sauce:

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 cup onion, chopped

1/2 cup green bell pepper, chopped

1 tablespoon garlic, minced

1 lb ground beef (80/20)

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

3/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon Italian seasoning

1 1/2 (24 oz) jars spaghetti sauce

For the Pasta:

1 tablespoon salt

16 oz spaghetti

For the Alfredo Sauce:

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

2 cups heavy cream

1 1/2 cups grated Parmesan cheese

Assembly:

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Fresh parsley and extra Italian seasoning for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Set oven to 350°F (177°C). Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.

Make Red Sauce: In a skillet, heat olive oil. Sauté onion and green bell pepper until soft. Add garlic and cook until fragrant.

Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain grease. Season with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Stir in spaghetti sauce and set aside.

Cook Pasta: Boil spaghetti in salted water until al dente. Drain.

Make Alfredo Sauce: In a pan, melt butter and sauté garlic for 1 minute. Stir in flour and cook for 1 more minute. Remove from heat, whisk in heavy cream until smooth. Return to heat and add Parmesan, stirring until melted.

Toss cooked spaghetti with Alfredo sauce and spread evenly into baking dish.

Assemble: Pour meat sauce over the Alfredo spaghetti (do not mix layers).

Sprinkle mozzarella over the top.

Bake: Bake uncovered for 30 minutes, until cheese is melted and casserole is bubbling.

Finish: Let cool for 10 minutes. Garnish with parsley and Italian seasoning. Serve warm.

Notes

Use jarred or homemade spaghetti sauce — both work!

Want extra richness? Add cream cheese to the Alfredo base.

Try with Italian sausage instead of ground beef for more flavor.

Leftovers reheat beautifully the next day.
