Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter and chocolate together in a saucepan over low heat or in a microwave-safe bowl. Stir until smooth and glossy. Let cool slightly.
  3. Whisk in granulated and brown sugars until fully combined.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the chocolate mixture, stirring until just combined.
  7. Chill the dough in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  8. Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheet.
  9. Top each mound with a small spoonful of peanut butter and swirl with a toothpick or skewer.
  10. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are set and centers look slightly soft.
  11. Cool on the pan for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Use creamy, no-stir peanut butter for best results.
  • Chilling the dough helps cookies maintain shape.
  • Add mini chocolate chips or chopped peanuts for extra texture.
  • Freeze dough balls or baked cookies for later use.
