Ingredients

  • 2 racks pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • For the honey glaze:
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with foil.
  2. Remove the membrane from the ribs and pat them dry.
  3. Mix salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika in a bowl. Rub mixture all over the ribs.
  4. Drizzle ribs with olive oil and wrap tightly in foil. Place on baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 2.5 to 3 hours until ribs are tender and cooked through.
  6. Meanwhile, in a saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, ketchup, vinegar, garlic, mustard, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 8–10 minutes until slightly thickened.
  7. Carefully unwrap baked ribs and brush with honey glaze.
  8. Broil for 5–7 minutes until caramelized and sticky. Watch closely to avoid burning.
  9. Let rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Add orange juice to the glaze for a citrus twist.
  • Mix BBQ sauce into glaze for smokier flavor.
  • Use a slow cooker for convenience, then broil to finish.
  • Beef ribs can be substituted for pork for a heartier version.
  • Wrap and reheat ribs in foil at 300°F to retain moisture.
