Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 2 tbsp strawberry jam or preserves
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Optional: powdered sugar or glaze (1/2 cup powdered sugar + 1–2 tsp milk + 1/4 tsp vanilla extract)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out puff pastry and cut into 6–8 rectangles or squares.
  3. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Spread a spoonful of cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry, leaving a border.
  5. Toss strawberry slices with strawberry jam, then layer over cream cheese filling.
  6. Brush pastry edges with egg wash.
  7. Bake for 15–20 minutes until pastry is puffed and golden.
  8. Cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with glaze if desired.

Notes

  • Add lemon curd under strawberries for a citrus twist.
  • Drizzle with white chocolate for a richer finish.
  • Use other berries or jams to change the flavor profile.
  • For make-ahead prep, assemble pastries (without fruit) and refrigerate until baking.
  • Fresh strawberries work best—avoid frozen due to excess moisture.
