Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (skin-on or skinless)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 1 tsp lime zest
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh cilantro or parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season salmon fillets with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. In a small bowl, mix honey, lime juice, lime zest, soy sauce, and minced garlic to make the glaze.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add salmon, skin-side down if applicable, and sear for 3–4 minutes until golden and crispy.
  4. Flip the salmon and cook another 2–3 minutes, depending on thickness.
  5. Pour the glaze into the skillet and let it bubble, spooning it over the salmon as it reduces and thickens.
  6. Once the salmon is cooked through and coated with the glaze, remove from heat.
  7. Garnish with chopped cilantro or parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Add red pepper flakes to the glaze for a spicy twist.
  • Substitute a little butter for the oil for a richer flavor.
  • Can be made with other fish like trout or cod.
  • Use gluten-free soy sauce to keep it gluten-free.
  • Grill the salmon and glaze during the final minutes for a smoky version.
