Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it into fine crumbles as it cooks.
  2. Drain any excess grease once the beef is fully cooked.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the pan and cook until soft and fragrant.
  4. Stir in tomato paste, water, chili powder, paprika, cumin, salt, black pepper, and sugar.
  5. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 30–45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Add apple cider vinegar and Worcestershire sauce towards the end of cooking and stir well.
  7. Simmer until the chili is thick and flavorful. Allow it to cool slightly before serving over hot dogs.
