1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

1/4 cup water

Instructions

Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish with butter or cooking spray.

Prepare Sweet Potatoes:
Peel the sweet potatoes and slice into 1/4-inch thick rounds.

Make Candied Sauce:
In a small bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, and ginger. Stir in the water until well combined.

Layer in Baking Dish:
Arrange a layer of sweet potatoes in the prepared baking dish. Drizzle some of the sauce over the layer. Repeat until all potatoes and sauce are used, ending with sauce on top.

Bake:
Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes, or until the sweet potatoes are tender and the sauce is bubbling.

Serve:
Serve hot as a flavorful and comforting side dish. Perfect for Thanksgiving, Sunday dinners, or any time you crave Southern flavor!

Notes

For a deeper caramelized glaze, bake uncovered a bit longer at the end.

You can sprinkle chopped pecans on top before baking for added texture.

This dish reheats well and can be made ahead for holidays.
