Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup beef broth or stock
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning (oregano, basil, thyme)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Heat oil or butter in a skillet. Sauté chopped onion until translucent, then add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Add mushrooms and cook until softened. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  4. Push vegetables to one side and add ground beef. Cook until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat if needed.
  5. Lower heat, stir in cream cheese until melted. Slowly add heavy cream and beef broth, stirring until smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  6. Transfer mixture to a greased baking dish. Top with shredded cheddar and a light sprinkle of Parmesan.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden. Broil for 1–2 minutes if desired.
  8. Let rest 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley if using.
