Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F/45°C)
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or vegetable oil
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 3 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water with sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add flour, salt, and oil. Knead until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  3. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
  4. Grease a 9×13-inch pan and press dough into the pan evenly.
  5. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  6. Mix melted butter with garlic powder (and Italian seasoning if using) and brush over the dough.
  7. Sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
  8. Bake for 15–18 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and edges are golden brown.
  9. Cool slightly, slice into sticks, and serve warm with marinara or ranch dip.

Notes

  • Use low-moisture mozzarella for best melt and stretch.
  • Mix in Monterey Jack or provolone for extra cheesy sticks.
  • Top with red pepper flakes or oregano for added flavor.
  • Use store-bought pizza dough for a quick shortcut.
  • Brush with more garlic butter after baking for extra flavor.
