Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 4 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 1624 pepperoni slices
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 4 burger buns
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter (for toasting buns)
  • Optional: fresh basil or dried oregano for garnish

Instructions

  1. Shape the ground beef into 4 equal-sized patties and season each side with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
  2. Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat and cook the patties for 4–5 minutes per side or until desired doneness is reached.
  3. In the last minute of cooking, top each patty with a slice of mozzarella cheese and cover the pan or close the grill lid to melt the cheese.
  4. Warm the pizza sauce in a small saucepan or microwave until heated through.
  5. Toast the burger buns in a skillet or on the grill with olive oil or butter until golden brown.
  6. Spread pizza sauce on the bottom half of each bun, then place the mozzarella-topped burger patty on top.
  7. Add 4–6 slices of pepperoni on top of the cheese.
  8. Sprinkle with fresh basil or dried oregano if desired, and close with the top bun.
  9. Serve immediately while the cheese is hot and gooey.

Notes

  • Best served fresh to enjoy gooey cheese and crisp buns.
  • Store leftovers wrapped in foil in the fridge for up to 2 days.
  • Reheat in a 350°F oven for 10–12 minutes for best results.
  • Customize with additional pizza toppings like mushrooms, olives, or peppers.
  • Swap beef for turkey or veggie patties for a lighter or vegetarian option.
