Ingredients

  • 1 lb frozen or homemade French fries
  • 1/2 lb thinly sliced ribeye steak or shaved beef
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 46 slices provolone cheese or 1/2 cup Cheez Whiz
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • Optional: pickled jalapeños, hot sauce, mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and bake or air fry French fries according to package instructions until golden and crispy.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sauté onions and bell peppers until soft and slightly caramelized. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Push vegetables to the side and add sliced beef to the skillet. Cook quickly, seasoning with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Combine steak with sautéed peppers and onions in the skillet.
  6. Spread cooked fries on a serving platter or oven-safe tray.
  7. Top fries with steak and veggie mixture.
  8. Layer provolone cheese over the top and melt in the oven for 5 minutes, or drizzle with warm Cheez Whiz.
  9. Serve immediately with optional toppings if desired.
