Ingredients

  • 1 can crescent roll dough or 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp lemon juice (optional)
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tbsp milk or cream (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out crescent dough or puff pastry; press seams to form a solid sheet.
  3. Mix cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and lemon juice until smooth.
  4. Spread filling down the center of dough, leaving borders on sides.
  5. For crescent dough: cut slits on sides and crisscross over filling. For puff pastry: fold sides in slightly.
  6. Brush top with beaten egg.
  7. Bake for 15–20 minutes until golden and puffed.
  8. Mix powdered sugar and milk to make glaze; drizzle over warm Danish before serving.
