Ingredients

  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook penne pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Stir in Parmesan cheese and cook, stirring constantly, until sauce is smooth and creamy.
  5. Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
  6. Add the cooked penne to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • Add cooked chicken, shrimp, or mushrooms for extra protein.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for best results.
  • Stir in spinach or sun-dried tomatoes for variety.
  • Reheat gently with a splash of milk or cream to keep sauce smooth.
  • Avoid boiling the sauce to prevent curdling.
