Ingredients

  • 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup maraschino cherries, drained, chopped, and patted dry
  • Optional: 1 tbsp cherry juice (for flavor/color)
  • Optional: 1/4 cup white chocolate chips (for drizzle/swirl)

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, allowing overhang for easy removal.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, combine chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter. Stir constantly until fully melted and smooth.
  3. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and optional cherry juice.
  4. Gently fold in the chopped, dried maraschino cherries.
  5. Pour mixture into prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  6. If using white chocolate, melt it and drizzle over the top. Swirl with a toothpick for a marbled effect.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
  8. Lift fudge from pan using parchment and cut into squares.

Notes

  • Pat cherries very dry to prevent fudge from becoming grainy or soft.
  • Use dark chocolate for a richer flavor or add chopped nuts for texture.
  • Top with whole cherries or sprinkles for a festive finish.
  • Add a drop of almond extract for a deeper cherry cordial taste.
  • Serve chilled or at cool room temperature for best texture.
