The Best Cherry Ginger Iced Tea recipe with bold black tea, sweet cherries, and a hint of fresh ginger for an easy homemade iced drink.
4 cups water
2 black tea bags
1 cup fresh cherries, pitted and halved (or 1/2 cup cherry juice)
1–2 tablespoons fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
2–3 tablespoons honey (optional, adjust to taste)
Ice cubes
Bring 4 cups of water to a boil and steep the black tea bags for 5–7 minutes. Remove tea bags and let the tea cool slightly.
While the tea steeps, prepare the ginger by peeling and slicing it, and pit and halve the cherries (if using fresh).
In a small saucepan, combine ginger, cherries (or cherry juice), and 1 cup of water. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 5–10 minutes to infuse flavors.
Strain out the solids and pour the infused liquid into the brewed tea. Stir well.
Add honey if desired while the mixture is still warm, stirring until dissolved.
Let the tea cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until fully chilled.
Serve over ice in glasses and enjoy your refreshing cherry ginger iced tea.
Adjust the ginger amount depending on how strong you like the spice.
Cherry juice can be used for a smoother, quicker version.
Honey can be replaced with maple syrup or sugar if preferred.
For a stronger tea flavor, steep an extra tea bag.
Best served chilled and consumed within 2–3 days.
