Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened (cookie dough)
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed (cookie dough)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar (cookie dough)
  • 1 egg (cookie dough)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (cookie dough)
  • 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour (cookie dough)
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda (cookie dough)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt (cookie dough)
  • ¾ cup chocolate chips (cookie dough)
  • 16 Oreo cookies (middle layer)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (brownie layer)
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar (brownie layer)
  • ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder (brownie layer)
  • 2 eggs (brownie layer)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (brownie layer)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour (brownie layer)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt (brownie layer)
  • Optional: Boxed brownie mix

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang for easy removal.
  2. Cookie Dough Layer: Cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla, then mix in flour, baking soda, and salt. Fold in chocolate chips and press evenly into the pan.
  3. Oreo Layer: Place Oreo cookies in a single layer over the cookie dough. Do not press too hard.
  4. Brownie Layer: Melt butter in a saucepan, stir in sugar and cocoa powder. Let cool slightly, then mix in eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour and salt until just combined.
  5. Pour brownie batter over the Oreos and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until top is set and a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  7. Let cool completely in the pan. Chill for cleaner slicing if desired.

Notes

  • Add peanut butter chips or chopped nuts to the cookie dough for variety.
  • Try different Oreo flavors for unique twists.
  • Top cooled brownies with a drizzle of caramel or chocolate sauce.
  • Chilling before slicing helps achieve clean layers.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature (3 days) or fridge (5 days).
  • Freeze individually wrapped squares for up to 2 months.
