Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Chopped green onions, for garnish (optional)
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add shrimp in a single layer, season lightly with salt and pepper, and cook for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  4. Pour sauce over the shrimp and let simmer for 1–2 minutes, stirring to coat evenly.
  5. Once the sauce thickens slightly and coats the shrimp, remove from heat.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • Add sriracha or red pepper flakes for heat.
  • Marinate shrimp in the sauce for 10–15 minutes for deeper flavor.
  • Maple syrup can substitute for honey if needed.
  • Add a cornstarch slurry if you prefer a thicker sauce.
  • Don’t overcook shrimp; they should form a loose “C” when done.
