Ingredients

1 pound ground beef (or ground turkey for a leaner option)

1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade seasoning for lower sodium)

2 tablespoons water (optional, if beef is well-drained)

1 tube refrigerated pizza dough (gluten-free dough can be used)

8 sticks Colby-Jack cheese (or cheddar/dairy-free cheese)

1 tablespoon butter (or olive oil, optional)

1/2 teaspoon garlic salt (or fresh garlic, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).

In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess grease.

Stir in taco seasoning and 2 tablespoons of water. Simmer for 2 minutes until evenly combined.

Roll out the pizza dough onto a baking sheet and cut into 8 equal rectangles.

Spoon seasoned beef onto each rectangle and place one cheese stick on top.

Roll the dough around the filling and pinch the seams tightly to seal.

Melt butter and mix with garlic salt. Brush over the tops of each taco stick.

Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Serve warm with salsa, sour cream, or guacamole for dipping.

Notes

Seal the edges well to prevent cheese from leaking out during baking.

For extra crispiness, bake on parchment paper instead of foil.

Add diced jalapeños or bell peppers inside for extra flavor.

Substitute black beans or lentils for a vegetarian version.

Pepper jack cheese adds a spicy twist.
